Maggie specialises in intellectual property, with a particular focus on trade marks, copyright, breach of confidence and related areas. Maggie works with Australian and international businesses across a broad range of industries including technology, fast moving consumer goods, health and pharmaceuticals, and financial services on the protection, enforcement and commercialisation of IP.
Maggie represents clients in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Courts in disputes and litigation involving trade mark and copyright infringement, misuse of confidential information, misleading or deceptive conduct and passing off. She also has substantial experience in matters before IP Australia.
Prior to returning to Australia, Maggie practised in London at a magic circle firm. She has a depth of local and international experience in complex IP-heavy transactions, and licensing and commercialisation arrangements involving IP.
She also has significant experience managing trade mark portfolios for some of the world's most valuable brands.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Certificate in Chinese Law from Murdoch University.
Maggie was the 2017 winner of ’30 under 30’ in the intellectual property category and has been recognised as an ‘Intellectual Property & TMT Rising Star’ in 2023 by Doyle’s Guide. She has also been ranked as a Managing Intellectual Property 'Rising Star’ since 2020, both for her work in Australia and the United Kingdom.
