Rohan specialises in commercial dispute resolution with a particular focus on environmental contamination and the energy, resources and infrastructure sector. He advises on a range of matters including commercial and contractual disputes, tortious claims, joint venture issues, contentious negotiations and disputes under the National Gas Rules.
Rohan has significant experience acting for both public and private sector clients in large and complex matters. This includes working on some of Australia’s largest environmental contamination class actions and assisting two high-profile Royal Commissions.
Rohan’s work highlights include:
- Various PFAS claims: acting for the Commonwealth in defending various litigated and non-litigated claims concerning alleged PFAS contamination at and around Defence facilities throughout Australia.
- Gladstone Ports Corporation Class Action: core member of the team acting for GPC in defending a $100m+ class action brought by commercial fisherman alleging financial loss as a result of alleged environmental contamination from a dredging and land reclamation project in the Port of Gladstone. Also acting on related third-party claim.
- PFAS Class Action: core member of the team acting for the Commonwealth in defending a large class action in relation to alleged PFAS contamination at and around seven Defence facilities.
- Defence Royal Commission: part of the core team of solicitors assisting the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
- Bushfires Royal Commission: part of the core team of solicitors assisting the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements.
- Affiliate dispute: acting for a gaming business in defending a claim for breach of contract and misleading and deceptive conduct brought by a former affiliate marketing agent.
- Contentious GTA negotiations and disputes: advising the owner and operator of gas pipelines in relation to the negotiation of gas transportation agreements and similar with various counterparties, as well as related disputes under the National Gas Rules.
- Energy sector clients: advising on various matters including joint venture issues and disputes, contractual interpretation issues, royalties and audit disputes, a coal supply dispute, project development issues, regulatory and risk management issues.
