Alannah is an experienced Senior Associate in the Mallesons Employee Relations & Safety team, who advises across all aspects of employment and workplace relations law. Alannah’s practice spans a broad set of institutional clients across sectors including tertiary, financial services, energy, government, not-for-profit and technology.
Alannah advises large employers on industrial relations strategy and enterprise bargaining, workforce restructuring, complex workplace investigations, senior staff terminations and sexual harassment and discrimination matters. An experienced litigator, Alannah also advises and acts for clients in proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Courts.
Having been seconded to several large Australian corporates across her career, Alannah brings a wealth of practical and commercial experience to her advisory work with clients.
Alannah’s experience includes:
- Managing employment lifecycle matters across all employee engagement and termination issues, including award coverage, misconduct, performance and dismissal
- Litigation across various State and Federal jurisdictions including claims regarding unfair dismissal, discrimination, adverse action, breach of contract and restraints
- Complex and sensitive investigations into workplace conduct
- Large-scale employment and industrial relations projects, including historic and prospective payroll compliance and remediation programs, and related workforce and regulatory matters
- Industrial relations strategies including engagement models, restructures and management of industrial action risk
- Enterprise agreement strategy, including bargaining, agreement drafting, responding to good faith bargaining orders and assisting with Fair Work Commission approval processes
- Advising on various labour models including independent contracting arrangements, gig-economy contracts and labour-hire licensing and requirements
