Jonathon is a Senior Associate in our Dispute Resolution team specialising in complex financial services and commercial litigation, class actions and regulatory investigations.
His experience includes defending financial institutions in large-scale class actions and other commercial litigation, and advising clients through contentious regulatory investigations.
Jonathon has acted on significant class actions, commercial disputes and regulatory investigations including:
- IG Markets Limited and IG Australia Pty Ltd: defending a Federal Court class action relating to derivative financial products.
- NULIS Nominees (Australia) Limited: defending a Federal Court class action relating to alleged breaches of trustee duties in respect of the payment of grandfathered commissions.
- An ASX100 company: defending an ASX100 company in Federal Court proceedings involving whistleblower claims.
- National Australia Bank: acting for NAB in NSW Supreme Court proceedings to recover the proceeds of a fraud against NAB.
- A major Australian bank: advising a major Australian bank in relation to an ASIC investigation and civil penalty proceeding regarding financial hardship processes under the National Credit Code.
